I propose we add information about the maps in each game. Obviously this excludes community maps, and is limited to only the stock maps.
I'm not sure if all the maps of each game should be listed under one page, or if each map should have its own page.If we were to do the latter, we could write about the features of the map, the missions the map has appeared in, and historical significance (if any). Thoughts?
This sounds a good idea and totally support it.
I propose that maps have their own page each, under a category like "Maps:". Beyond the suggested points above, I would find some strategical/tactical advice useful. In my opinion, campaign advices for certain maps should be avoided, since mission walkthroughs provide detailed advice already.
While you are uploading information on maps, I am going to make pages on the different castles in the 'Historic Siege' mode and the Conquest Trail.
However, for some of the details on defense and offense (e.g. starting troops), I may need some help, so I will add some of the starting content, like the names, images and some background information, and then we can all work together to expand from there.
I decided to help out Michael and collect information about the Stronghold 2 castles, as there are not that many of them and these could be finished much earlier than the maps.
@Hypno-disc: I can write a new template by modifying an existing one (the Character template seems to be the best), so there won't be any fields like "Nicknames" and "Real Name" in the description :) In this case, could you help me decide what fields to include/not include?
OK. First, I would include a field on the size of the castle. I would also add sections on what materials castles are made of (wood or stone), date built (to replace age), location and current status. Hope this helps :)
Fine, I have created a template called "Historic Castle" exclusively for Siege modes. Explanation of all fields is attached to the template itself. The code is mostly derived from the Character Box template. Two questions:
I think that the gender, real name and nickname fields should be removed.
The age section should be renamed to the date built section.
Both measurements units would be good, as I live in a country where we use miles (imperial units), where as in the continent, they use kilometres (metric units).
Materials used, locatio and current status.
There is a link in my last post above yours, check it out :) I haven't added 'current status' yet, as I am not sure what it would refer to. Should they be like: i.e. 'closed from public', 'open', 'under renovation'?
What I mean by that is whether, like the Tower of London, it is still complete or, like Harlech Castle, is it in ruins.
I would also acctually add another section to say whether it is open or closed to the public. Does that sound OK?
Well, I can add them then, no problem with it. Remember to use the "Historic Castle" template (no link this time) for new castle articles you may create from now :) Soon the fields will be added, I will polish the castle articles later.
Cool. Now that is sorted, we can work together to get all of the castles uploaded :)
Cheers for your help. I really appreciate it.
What do you think?
