Arabian archers are an expensive missile troop that can be fielded reliably with much gold at hand. They have slightly superior combat statistics compared to archers, having more health and almost double the fire rate. The Arabian bowman is less versatile however, as he is unable to dig moat or scale ladders.

In melee combat, the bowman switches to a knife that deals very little melee damage. A group of Arabian bowmen can also be ordered to attack a circular area, firing barrages of arrows over obstacles with very little accuracy and high spread. They can also directly attack buildings and dismantle them in melee by using the 'attack here' option on one of them.

In direct combat, the Arabian bowman performs somewhat more reliably than the normal archer. Due to his health pool, he can survive a few shots more and takes one more crossbow bolt to kill. Arabian bowmen are most suited to hit-and-run attacks, as well as defenders to dismantle light units with higher efficiency than the crossbowman. Still, if the player decides to build an extensive industry of Fletcher's Workshops, archers are magnitudes more cost-effective to field in the long run.
