The church is the second most expensive religious building in the player's arsenal. It boasts a larger building area and stronger than the chapel, however twice as more expensive, while still employing only one priest. What makes it worthwhile to build is that the presence of a church provides a constant +1 popularity, enabling higher taxes when combined with other sources of bonus popularity.
Multiple churches will not give additional popularity.
