Lady Catherine is a main character in Stronghold 3. She is featured as the protagonist of the Lady Catherine's Abbey campaign.

Character

Lady Catherine is a young princess and heiress to the British throne.

In the events of the Second War, Lady Catherine is patronized and looked after by the Boy. She is an adept swordfighter, capable of defending herself against the Jackal's forces during the siege of the Royal Castle. Catherine however is not an advocate for war and harm, which makes her vulnerable in front of more dominant people.

Lady Catherine matures significantly after the Second War, when she takes up the task of rebuilding a monumental church, the Abbey. She shows great confidence and she is determined to change the image of warfare to a 'beacon of hope'. Catherine also familiarizes herself with military efforts during her quest, making her a worthy successor of her brother.

Biography

Lady Catherine is introduced as a royal woman. She is bound by blood to the lineage of the English throne, as she is the younger sister of the King of England. Her patron is the Boy, a fighter fanatically loyal to the King.

Return of the Wolf

Catherine and the Boy reside at the Royal Castle, which suddenly becomes under attack by the Jackal in the middle of the night. The attack is sweepingly successful as the castle is conquered, but the two manage to escape to the countryside in the shroud.

The Boy decides that he keeps Catherine next to him and vindicates her from harm. Initially hiding between workers, the Boy manages to incite a rebellion and build an insurgency force to combat the Jackal. The army grows to a great size and soon the Boy establishes a steady position, however this comes with a great loss: the King is killed by the opposing forces.

The emergence of more members from a mysterious syndicate urges the Boy to desperately look for allies and nullify the Jackal's efforts. Establishing a stable position, the Boy shelters Lady Catherine in the Abbey.

After the Rat's sons are defeated and the Boy is busy fighting back the Pig's sons, the Abbey comes under siege by Bishop Redham's forces and Catherine is taken hostage by Redham. She is grievously insulted and mocked by the bishop, however the Boy comes to her rescue at night, liberating the Abbey.

Catherine prepares to be Queen and take over the King's seat, after the Boy scatters the Wolf's forces from the Royal Castle.

Lady Catherine's Abbey

Lady Catherine starts a lengthy quest in order to rebuild the Abbey, her former shelter, after the war on the Wolf took its toll in the form of building and human casualties. Catherine believes that the reconstruction of an important religious building could restore faith and empower the common folk in their land.

Catherine engages in the establishment of the economic and human needs: she stockpiles resources for the project, builds houses for the workers and eradicates some wolves from the buildling area. She also has to refill ale and food stocks for the coming monks and workers. Catherine must also grow a small military force in order to repel outlaws and renegade troops that roam as bandits. She entrusts a lieutenant to carry out these tasks.

After the bandits are gone, the Abbey's reconstruction completes. Lady Catherine prepares a large banquet and gets a lot of luxury products produced for the occasion to truly make the people return to their everyday duties.
