Lancelot is a character and AI opponent appearing in Stronghold Legends.

Background

Lancelot du Lac is an infamous character in King Arthur's legends. Being one of the most faithful knights of Arthur, Lancelot aided and fought alongside the king. He won many battles and helped to recover the Holy Grail. Lancelot was also in a secret love with Arthur's wife, Guinevere. He was in charge of Camelot, the famous castle and estate.

Lancelot is the symbol of chivalry, being a loyal knight and a true lover.

Skirmish character

Lancelot resembles his legendary character, retaining his loyalty to human units. He plays for the good faction, but refuses to use any fantasy units, sticking to barracks units.

Castles and Strategies

Offense

Lancelot is slow at assembling his armies. He has a decent weapons industry, but he often develops his castle before deciding to lay a siege. He is also reluctant in harassing his enemies.

Lancelot uses large armies, but little siege equipment. He brings many archers, with a few men-at-arms and swordsmen. They are supported with a few catapults and mantlets, but nothing else. He likes to set up ladders against walls, so his archers can gain a superiority in firepower.

Lancelot harasses very rarely, but he likes sending hordes of archers when the enemy is being attacked, often in the dozens.

Defense

Lancelot has a small rectangular castle, cornered by numerous lookout towers and an engine tower with a dragon harpoon. He uses archers in every corner and on the keep's roof, while a few men-at-arms guard the barracks and the gatehouse. He does not use any traps or other defense devices.
