The mercenary post is used to recruit mercenary units in Stronghold Crusader and Stronghold 2.
Usage
The mercenary post allow to recruit Arabian units (and some other troops in Stronghold 2). Mercenaries cost only gold and a peasant to hire, they need neither weapons nor armour to equip.
When fresh units are recruited, they automatically go to the post and wait there. Each unit type can have its own assembly point at any location on the map indicated by a green flag. These points can be restored to the mercenary post every time.
Unlike the barracks, the mercenary post is built of wood. Therefore the post is easier to destroy, but cheaper to build. It is also susceptible to fire and it can spread flames around the perimeter.
