Pikemen (or more correctly "Halberdiers", as he carries a "Halberd" not a "Pike") is an exceptional unit in defense, as his ability to take large amounts of damage allow him to block access to parts of defending castles longer than most other units. He has decent speed, good protection from arrows (in normal circumstances he takes 50 Archer arrows to kill). He also has the best protection from crossbow bolts, taking 17 versus the Swordsman's 12, as well as having a decent attack strength. He proves useful for filling in/digging moats even under ranged attack (Although he does not appreciate this, he will sarcastically remark, "Great use of our time, lord" when ordered to do so). Pikemen require pike and metal armour to produce, and cost 20 gold to train. Pikes are produced at the Poleturner's Workshop, while metal armour is produced at the Armourer's Workshop. Cost: 20 gold, pike, metal armor, 2 honor. Stronghold 2 The pikeman can preform the sheathe attack in stronghold legends twirling in a indignant position. Trivia Aside from Tunnelers, Engineers, and Archers, Pikemen are one of the units in Stronghold who have a distinctive, regional accent. They have a Northern, Yorkshire accent.
