Spearman

Known as Man-at-Arms in Stronghold Legends The Spearman is a light infantry soldier who is equipped with a spear. They are weak but a large swarm of spearmen are very deadly because of their speed. They are the only units that can knock ladders off wall, and one of the few units that can climb them. They are also the unit with the fastest speed for digging/filling in Moats. Spearmen are extremely vulnerable to all enemy soldiers due to the lack of armour and the weakness of their attacks. Stronghold In Stronghold, Spearmen require 1 Spear, 1 peasant, and 8 gold. They require no armor, which makes them cheap, but weak. Legends In Stronghold Legends, Men-at-Arms have the ability to throw their spear, making them somewhat of a long-range unit. After the spear is thrown, the Men-at-Arms will use their short blade for hand to hand combat. Their spear regenerates after a short period of time, and they will throw it again. Trivia Somewhy the spearmen are fast, but weak due to armour and limited training, but if you look closely it resemles mail armour, which granted excellent defense against slashes, blows and thrusts The spearmen in the other Stronghold versions sound unintelligent, even stupid, but in Stronghold Legends they sound like experienced warriors, yet they always lose, but in Middle Ages the spearmen were a backbone of every army as well. The outlaws in Stronghold 2 resemble the spearmen in Stronghold Legends.
