Towers can be built anywhere independently on the map. They require the presence of a single-tiled wall from any direction to be accessible for ground troops. Garrisoning units atop a tower gain height advantage: enemy projectiles have a tendency to miss and they only inflict half of their damage. Braziers can also be placed on a tower, further improving the combat capabilities of archers and Arabian bowmen.
Towers can be damaged with rocks, melee attacks and bashes from the battering ram (indicated by holes appearing on the bricks). On critically low health, the tower crumbles, with all of its units dying and disappearing. When a tower is destroyed without crumbling, all of its defenders lose half of their health as fall damage. Tunnelers may also undermine the foundation of a tower, which also results in heavy damage or collapse.
Towers can be repaired to full health, just like gatehouses. The repair cost is proportional to damage dealt.
Arabian-style tower, which is the smallest and tallest structure in the game, bearing a hoarding. It provides the best guaranteed ranged advantage in the game, but has very low health, making it particularly fragile. It can house up to 5 units on its upper level. It has 250 health and costs 10 stone to build. Repair cost is 1 stone / 25 health.
Small square tower with arrowslits, which is very cheap to build. It is a solid tower, which is more durable and effective, but lacks a solid foundation. It can house about 10 units on its upper level. It has 1000 health and costs 10 stone to build. Repair cost is 1 stone / 100 health.
An upgrade to the perimeter turret, being a bit taller and bigger. It has decent health and it is quite robust. It can house up to 25 units on its upper level. It has 1500 health and costs 15 stone to build. Repair cost is 1 stone / 100 health.
A massive structure that has a hoarding on the top. It is invulnerable to tunnelers and has decent size. While not much stronger than a defense turret, it can host an additional mangonel or ballista beyond its garrison. It can house up to 36 units on its upper level. It has 1600 health and costs 35 stone to build. Repair cost is 1 stone / 45 health.
The sturdiest and biggest of all towers. It is a big stronger and larger than the square tower, carrying the same similarities. It can host a defense equipment on the top and is invulnerable to tunnelers. It can house up to 40 units on its upper level. It has 2000 health and costs 40 stone to build. Repair cost is 1 stone / 50 health.
