The trebuchet is a ground siege equipment.
Description[]
Trebuchets are large wooden contraptions which can hurl rocks in a high trajectory, firing over most buildings and units. Their payload is capable of causing large damage to anything they hit. While their range is the highest among all units and siege engines, they take time to be assembled and fire very slowly.
The trebuchet is a massive siege engine that can be used to fling rocks at enemy structures from a distance. Its stones are also much more powerful due to its construction, capable of instantly killing any unit. Its counterpart is the catapult, with which the trebuchet also shares many similarities.
As all ground siege engines, an engineer must construct them in a pre-placed siege tent. Once built, the trebuchet cannot be moved, necessitating some defense. Three engineers are used to operate the engine, in addition to its dedicated supply that must be replenished with stone from the stockpile.
Deceased cattle can also be hurled with the trebuchet if a dairy farm is available, which may spread disease clouds in a small area, effective to terrorize workers and soldiers as they pass by.
A common use for the Trebuchet is firing behind walls or natural terrain, as its firing angle allows it to bypass obstacles and hit enemy structures. Caution needs to be used when targeting an area near friendly troops, as a stone can hit a friendly soldier, even near towers during ascent.
The trebuchet hurls its projectiles with very low accuracy, which may be useful in bringing down huge building arrays, but will more than likely hit a different target than intended.
The trebuchet is the ultimate long-range siege weapon created at a siege camp. It delivers its payload with extreme inaccuracy at its target, damaging buildings and knocking back units. The trebuchet takes a very long time to reload and fire again.
When created, the trebuchet comes packed on a coach, so that it can be delivered around the map to a desired place. Once it arrives to its location with a move command, it is assembled and becomes immobile. There must be some free room for the crew to set up the trebuchet.
Once deployed, deceased Cattle can also be hurled with the trebuchet if the player has cows at a dairy farm. Carcasses spread disease at the place of landing, effective against workers and weaker units.
As the trebuchet has very long firing cycles, it makes it very ineffective against large groups of units, therefore it should be guarded against enemy attackers.

Unlike in previous games, the trebuchet can be packed up in a short time to relocate, after it has been deployed. The trebuchet is very vulnerable in this state.

When created, the trebuchet comes packed on a coach, so that it can be delivered around the map to a desired place. Once it comes to a stop, it can be manually commanded to assemble, after which it becomes immobile. There must be some free room for the crew to set up the trebuchet. The trebuchet can be packed again in order to move it away from its current position.
Once deployed, four different animal carcasses can also be hurled with the trebuchet. Carcasses spread disease at the place of landing, effective against workers and weaker units. Each ammo has a separate timer, during which it is unavailable for firing.

Once deployed, the trebuchet can fire various other ammo types besides rocks, each having a separate timer before usable again:
- Pigs and water buffalo carcasses spread disease at the place of landing, effective against workers and weaker units.
- Thunder crash bombs ignite the surrounding area, setting buildings ablaze and triggering hidden gunpowder traps.
